New technologies and
New technologies and contemporary languages of art meet the UNESCO heritage of Noto (SR) to talk about melting glaciers and climate change.
IRAE - Ultimate Landscapes, this is the name of the first sound green smart wall in Italy: a digital mosaic in bioresin, promoted by Yourban2030 on the occasion of the first edition of Vision2030, which arrives on the walls of the station of the Baroque capital to tell a story , that of the melting of glaciers, through sound and image.
A permanent “performance” for the public
In addition to being the first sound smart wall in Italy, IRAE - Ultimate Landscapes thus becomes a permanent and sustainable work of public art in which sounds restore and amplify, in musical form, the same sounds that are evoked through drawing.
A cry of pain that meets the large-scale re-proposition of the image immortalized by the lens artist Claudio Orlandi and extracted from the first issue of IRAE, an art book published by Yourban2030 and directed by Angelo Cricchi.
On the digital canvas of the smart wall is reproduced, in a size of 31 square meters, an author's photograph by Claudio Orlandi which portrays the Rhone glacier in Switzerland, currently protected by a "thermal blanket" which prevents further destruction.
The photographic narration by Claudio Orlandi - who has been undertaking a Long Term Project since 2008 which bears witness to the placement of ultra-technical sheets along the glaciers - then meets the sound installation created by Alessio Mosti who becomes the "voice" of the glacier itself, sound physical of the crumbling recorded, repeated and made into music.
The Sound Designer
Accompanying the photo, listening via QR code, is Katabasis, a sound track born from the work of sound designer Alessio Mosti.
For the composition of the Katabasis sound, the artist used sound samples taken in Antarctica relating to the collapse of the ice shelves, a phenomenon now known as calving: the sound material was reworked, manipulated and inserted into an electroacoustic composition of 8 minutes and 22 seconds.
Graffiti for Smart City
Walls that are windows open to the world
Graffiti for Smart City is an innovative startup born from the idea of installing intelligent mosaics on the walls of our cities. The result will be the creation of #smartwalls equipped with technology that will allow citizens to connect to nearby walls, through their smartphones, taking advantage of 5G technology, thus being able to access a series of services.
Starting from any digital image, it is possible to create fully customizable mosaics. Through a special technological process, the starting digital image is reworked, decomposed and printed on bio-resin tiles with a minimum size of 1.6 x1.6 cm which, during assembly, like a giant puzzle, will recompose the initial image. Bio-resin mosaics can use files from nationally and internationally renowned artists (photographers, illustrators, street artists) and contribute to the regeneration and/or redevelopment of public and private urban spaces.
Vision 2030 Award - 1st Edition
An award to recognize the social commitment of young emerging artists and established directors. Vision 2030 was born with the intention of becoming the national reference point for the debate, the promotion of documentary works in the cinematographic and audiovisual fields, inherent to the 17 objectives of the UN Agenda 2030.
The Festival supports excellence, enhancement of human capital, sustainable economic growth, productivity and competitiveness, involving Noto's commercial activities and associations.
